How to get recommended by AI: Astra Go Masterclass

For 28 years, AP | PORTUGAL has helped brands be understood in every language and every market. Throughout that time, the audience deciding whether a company would be found was always the same: people searching on Google.

That audience has changed. Today, it is increasingly artificial intelligence that decides whether a brand gets found. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google’s AI Overviews answer directly, name specific companies and leave all the others out.

We created Astra Go in response to this shift: AP | PORTUGAL’s new brand dedicated to visibility in artificial intelligence. AI SEO, GEO and AEO, across multiple languages and markets, with the same commitment to quality that has defined us since 1998.

Astra Go’s first public initiative is the Astra Go Masterclass, a certified online masterclass on 19 November 2026, where we share the method we use to get AI to recommend a brand. This article explains the foundations of that method.

Right now, somewhere, a client is asking AI who they should buy from. The answer names two or three companies. All the others might as well not exist. If you have never checked whether your brand appears in that answer, there is a good chance it does not. This article explains why, and what you can do about it before the answers become firmly established around your competitors.

Search did not get an update. It was replaced. People no longer work through lists of links; they ask AI and act on the answer. Google’s AI Overviews answer before anyone scrolls. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Copilot recommend specific companies by name.

59.7% of searches now end without a single click through to any website (Omnibound AI).

The consequence is brutal in its simplicity:

  • If AI understands you, trusts you and recommends you, it sends you clients who arrive with their decision already half made.
  • If not, it sends your clients elsewhere, and you never find out you were in the running.

The good news: AI systems do not choose brands at random. They follow patterns you can understand and influence. That is the discipline we teach in the Astra Go Masterclass, and this article gives you its foundations: how AI decides who to recommend, why most brands are invisible to it and how to become the answer.

Your competitors are reading about this too. The difference lies in who acts first.

How does AI decide which brands to recommend?

AI recommends companies with genuine digital authority: those with strong visibility, a trusted reputation and clear, consistent information everywhere AI looks. Before an AI puts its own credibility behind your brand, it needs to answer three questions:

  • Who is this? Can AI identify your brand as a distinct, verifiable entity?
  • What exactly do they do? Is your offering described in the same way everywhere it looks?
  • Can I trust them? Do credible third parties confirm what you say about yourself?

This is a different game from traditional SEO. A page can rank first on Google and never be cited by an AI, because ranking signals and answer signals are not the same thing. Keywords matter less. Meaning, structure, consistency and authority matter more.

What are AI SEO, GEO and AEO?

Three disciplines. One outcome: your brand becomes the answer.

  • AI SEO, AI Search Engine Optimization. Making AI a tool for your SEO, and making your SEO ready for AI, so your content appears in AI-powered search, such as Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode.
  • GEO, Generative Engine Optimization. Being cited in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, not just ranking on Google.
  • AEO, Answer Engine Optimization. Structuring content so AI serves up your brand as the answer, rather than a competitor.

They overlap, and that is the point. The same groundwork supports all three: clear entities, structured content, consistent meaning and genuine digital authority. Treat them as one discipline and you stop optimising for an algorithm and start optimising to become the answer.

Why is my brand invisible to AI?

Almost always for one of four fixable reasons:

  • Your content has keywords but never answers the question. AI systems extract answers. A page that talks around a subject gives them nothing to extract.
  • Your brand is described differently everywhere. A website, social profiles, directories and third-party references that do not match create uncertainty, and AI does not recommend what it cannot verify.
  • You have no structured data. Schema.org and JSON-LD are how machines read who you are and what you offer. Without them, AI is guessing.
  • Your authority lives offline. Decades of reputation mean nothing to a system that can only see what is published, linked and referenced.

None of these is an unusual problem. They can be fixed methodically, and that is what makes this moment an opportunity: most of your competitors have not fixed them either. Yet. Every month you wait is another month in which AI’s answers become a little more firmly established around those who moved first.

What is the AI Visibility Optimization Framework?

It is the repeatable method at the heart of the Astra Go Masterclass programme: a single workflow combining AI SEO, GEO and AEO that takes you from an audit to published, measurable results. Ten steps, in order:

The AI Visibility Optimization Framework

  1. Understand the audience
  2. Research entities
  3. Analyse competitors
  4. Design semantic content
  5. Build digital authority
  6. Optimise on-site
  7. Strengthen off-site signals
  8. Implement structured data
  9. Validate with AI
  10. Measure visibility

The measurable end state is easy to describe: when a client asks an AI who to work with in your market, your brand is in the answer, described accurately and for the right reasons.

This framework is what you take away from the masterclass, ready to implement the following day.

Does this actually deliver results?

The numbers show that this is already a revenue channel, not a trend to watch:

  • Traffic from AI channels now generates 53% more revenue per visit than non-AI traffic (Adobe, 2026).
  • AI traffic grew 393% year on year in early 2026 (Adobe Analytics), making it the fastest-growing online channel.

The pattern behind the numbers makes intuitive sense. A visitor who arrives because an AI recommended you has already been persuaded by a source they trust. Being the answer does not just bring traffic; it brings the most qualified traffic there is.

The multilingual advantage your competitors are ignoring

Almost everyone optimising for AI does so in one language and stops there. The masterclass teaches you to extend AI visibility across languages and markets through well-executed localisation, so AI recommends you to clients your competitors have not even noticed exist. Taught by the team that has spent 28 years helping brands be understood across borders, this is the part of the method that nobody else is teaching.

Where do I start?

Start by seeing what the machines see right now:

  • Ask the main AI systems about your sector, your company and your competitors.
  • Note exactly how each one describes you.
  • The gaps you find, such as incorrect descriptions, missing capabilities or absence from recommendations, are your to-do list.

Then follow the sequence: correct how your entities are described everywhere your brand appears, restructure your key pages to answer real questions directly, add the structured data that allows machines to verify you, and build the third-party references that give AI a reason to trust you.

If you want the complete method in an afternoon rather than a year of trial and error, that is what the Astra Go Masterclass is for: a certified online masterclass in AI SEO, GEO and AEO, lasting four and a half hours on 19 November 2026, taught by professionals who do this work every day, not commentators. Every ticket includes the complete AI Visibility Optimization Toolkit:

  1. AI Visibility Optimization Framework
  2. GEO checklist
  3. Prompt for creating content optimised for AI visibility
  4. Localisation prompt
  5. Entity mapping template
  6. Presentation slides
  7. Access to the recording
  8. Certificate of completion

The certificate matters more than you might think: professionals with AI skills already command a 62% wage premium over comparable roles without those skills (PwC Global AI Jobs Barometer, 2026). A verifiable credential is how you prove you have them, and it is included with every ticket.

Frequently asked questions

  • Is traditional SEO dead?
No, its role has changed. It remains the foundation, but it is no longer enough. Today, SEO is the entry requirement; being the answer is the goal.

  • How long does it take for AI to recommend a brand?
The first signs appear within weeks of correcting entities and structured data. A stable presence in recommendations takes months of work. Anyone promising a fixed timeline is not being honest.

  • Does this work for small businesses, or only for big brands?
It works particularly well for SMEs. AI recommends those it can identify and verify, not those with the biggest budget.

  • Does this work in languages other than English?
Yes, and that is where the biggest opportunity lies. In Portuguese, Spanish, German or French, the answers are still up for grabs.

  • What if I cannot attend on the day?
Buy a ticket anyway. The recording remains available for a year, and the toolkit and certificate are yours regardless.

  • Do I need technical skills to apply this?
No. It is for decision-makers and communication professionals. The technical side is explained so you can do it yourself or ask the person who manages your website to do it.

It applies AP | PORTUGAL’s 28 years of experience in multilingual communication to the new answer engines, combining AI SEO, GEO and AEO into a single method so brands are identified, understood and recommended by AI in every market and language in which they operate.
