"Connect, explore, grow", "Build new relationships" or "shape the future", the challenges abound at the entrance to GALA 2019, an event that will bring together the translation industry in the German city of Munich.
Much has changed for the translation companies since the first edition in Cancun in 2009 and, if there were any doubts, the extensive list of subjects that will be covered from March 24 to 27 are proof that this is a time of challenges.
For four days, the Westin Grand Munich will host 83 speakers and for the participants of the event organized by GALA - Globalization & Localization Association, among them the CEO of AP Portugal - Tech Language Solutions, Mário Júnior, the challenge will be to choose among the 58 lectures scheduled in an extensive program.
Nevertheless there will be room for the exchange of experiences and the fostering of cooperation between translation companies from around the world that will be present in the capital of Bavaria.
From that moment on and during the four days of the eleventh edition of "GALA - The Language of business, the business of language", the future of the translation industry, business models, challenges to interpretation, whether " by fault " of the machine translation, or by the challenges posed by the remote interpretation will be debated.
Now that the opening of the 2019 Gala is approaching, we suggest to recall three issues from the 2018 edition of Boston in the United States, resulting from a survey conducted among participants.
Here are the conclusions:
87% said they learned new concepts or strategies that will help them in their business
94% reported that they were satisfied or extremely satisfied with the conference
74% reported making contacts that may generate new business for them
