The new LinkedIn, why a bilingual person is not an interpreter and, please, don't scream "Sales!"

The truth is that in this "information era" knowing the difference between "more knowledge" and "better knowledge" has become even more important.

The principle can be applied in the area of language and technological services, and it makes content curation a challenge which AP | PORTUGAL takes on with the same enthusiasm that we have had since our foundation, incorporating elements of the future into the present.

First up,

LinkedIn, the worlds largest professional network that boasts of having 175 million users worldwide and more than 16 million users from the country, (1) has made some major design changes. The professional network also rolled out Stories and updates to search, messaging.

Bilingual person vs interpreter

A bilingual person is the one who knows both the languages involved in the conversation and is able to understand as well as translate the same. So, the question will come to anybody’s mind that why such bilingual person cannot work as the interpreter.

Bilingual person may work during informal chitchat, but when it comes to professional interpretation, you need only professional interpreter for flawless results. Here are the reasons.

Ensure inclusive language

Whether it's intentional or not, we all carry implicit biases in our everyday language. However, it's important to make a conscious effort to avoid this. Four Covid-19 sniffer dogs have begun work at Helsinki airport in a state-funded pilot scheme that Finnish researchers hope will provide a cheap, fast and effective alternative method of testing people for the virus. A dog is capable of detecting the presence of the coronavirus within 10 seconds and the entire process takes less than a minute to complete.

Amazon unveils drone that films inside your home

When Amazon’s chief executive, Jeff Bezos, promised in 2013 that drones would soon be flying everywhere delivering packages, a miniature camera whirring through homes and recording video was probably not what people envisioned. Amazon’s Ring division unveiled the Ring Always Home Cam, a small drone that hums as it flies around houses filming everything, ostensibly for security purposes. Reaction to the surveillance drone was spirited — but not in the way Amazon might have hoped.

Don't scream "Sales!"

Considering the sheer volume of emails we send and receive, the communication you send needs to be clear, to-the-point, and relevant. It's not easy to get noticed in someone's email inbox. Your prospects don't have time to read long, fluffy emails filled with the buzzwords of the day. Make sure your emails don't scream "Sales!"

Last but not the least

As the world of work has changed this year, so has the world of coffee. With more people working from home, and fewer opportunities to grab a cup on the go, more of us are trying to replicate our morning takeout in our own kitchen.
