EUATC: Localisation and other challenges for translation companies

Written by AP | PORTUGAL | 18-Apr-2019 07:52:34

After Madrid in 2018, the annual EUATC conference is taking place in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, hosted this year by the Association of Estonian Translation Companies, on April 25th and 26th.

As in previous meetings, the 14th edition will gather European associations  of translation companies from 20 countries, where decision-makers working in LSP will discuss quality standards practices in the industry.

Attendees will be welcomed on the 24th at the venue, and the opening speech by Heike Leinhausen - EUATC president - on the 25th will mark the official start of the two-day programme of the 14th edition, the tone of which will immediately be set by the first speakers.

Given the need to adjust to a constantly changing world , translation companies have embraced new tasks, with focusing on the growing intervention in the area of content localisation in fields such as video, graphics, multilingual ad campaigns and copywriting, emotion analysis... The list is long.

New propositions in the world of translation generate curiosity around an industry that faces other stimulating challenges, such as the trivialisation of machine translation. Topics that will definitely draw all the participants' attention to the 14th EUTAC conference.
